Abstract

Since the outbreak of the corona pandemic, digitalization in the teaching profession has gained even greater attention. So far, it is unclear what the term and scope denote when used in relevant literature. This article enquires about prominent conceptual connotations, subject related designations, and theoretical framing. On the basis of a critical review, a heuristic overview over term usage and scope is given. The results show that the discourse is restricted to digital competencies of teachers or technical aspects. An extended and broader discussion could open up new and enhancing perspectives.
